The Roshan Villa Retreat is a gated complex of 38 villas and communal spaces located in the green belt surrounding Tehran. The aspirational design is tailored to successful professionals who want a mix of holiday homes and residences outside the chaos of metropolitan Tehran. Designed personally by Hadi Teherani over the course of one year together with an international team, the concept evolved from a simple drawing all the way to a detailed community plan involving luxury villas and custom-designed details.
In the centre of the 70,000 m² retreat is the canyon. A vibrant green landscaped focal point complete with extended water features, meditation pools, and over 5.1 kilometres of dedicated walking and bike paths. The canyon connects all parts of the community and acts as conduit between the community centre building at the entrance and each villa.
A sense of dynamism is given to the levels of each villa via cantilevered balconies looking out over the canyon on the upper floors; the lower floors benefit from reflection and private swimming pools. The close collaboration between architect and interior designers has successfully put human nature at the centre of the villas. The creation of a calm environment through a balanced approach to light and space takes prominence in every living area. High ceilings with full-length windows connect the outer and inner worlds. Green landscapes, treetops and reflections from the pool impart a sense of tranquillity. When entering each space, visitors can’t help but feel a sense of calm and stillness.
Conveniently located near the community entrance is the Canyon Club. The club provides residents with world-class amenities. A fully appointed spa, gym and meditation studio encourage well-being; a café for casual meetings. Additional recreational highlights include two interconnecting events rooms, a private cinema, outdoor sports grounds, an amphitheatre, as well as facilities for children.
